CTA: Personal Hygiene & Back-to-School Supplies Needed for Maryvale Señoritas
We're in urgent need of 'Back to School' supplies for our girls at Maryvale Residential Treatment Center (1st orphanage in Los Angeles), in time for our event on Sept 23 (deadline for donations is Sept 20)
Our señoritas are growing and in need of personal hygiene items too. You can already imagine the need as their body changes, but through these items we can help their self esteem and emotional wellness. They've been victims of conditions they didn't even choose, their families have failed them and too often forgotten by society, let's show them we care the EASIEST WAY possible, donate personal hygiene items such as:
deodorant, shampoo, sunblock, pads, lip balm and (why not) basic natural makeup so they can feel pretty too.
Basic School Supplies Needed:
Pens and pencils

Maryvale’s Residential Treatment Program serves girls, ages 8-18, removed from their homes by the Department of Children and Family Services. Most girls in residence at Maryvale have been profoundly traumatized by prior abuse, abandonment or neglect and suffer from the effects of numerous failed placements in foster care facilities.
Maryvale and the Department of Children and Family Services work together to assist residents who typically have severe emotional disturbances and have been referred to Maryvale by the courts or government agencies because they require a higher level of professional intervention than most children and youth within the foster care system.
